Managing Performance Effectively
This session is part of the LJMU Leadership and Development Programme and is for staff with Line Management responsibility only.
This workshop will focus on supporting Managers to more effectively manage the performance of staff within their teams including following the associated University policies relating to appraisal processes and performance management and aims to encourage managers to recognise high performance and to manage poor performance effectively, including:
- Showing managers how to establish clear frameworks in which employees understand what is expected of them in terms of their performance.
- How to establish and communicate standards and expectations, which allow employees to fulfil clear requirements of their job and to find ways in which they can focus and excel.
The setting of consistent appraisal processes and the establishment of realistic goals which will motivate and guide employees to continuously improve.
