Panopto: Increasing the use of video within teaching and learning
Panopto is LJMU’s institutional video recording and management system, that greatly simplifies the process of media creation and sharing through an easy to use set of tools and secure integration into Canvas course spaces. Panopto is already winning the praise of LJMU staff and students through a number of applications including sharing of short video messages by tutors, recorded lab demonstrations, narrated PowerPoints, live broadcasts, student presentations, video assignments and lecture capture. Video allows staff to support diverse student needs and rethink how programmes are delivered such as ‘flipped’ teaching and broadening the range of ways that students engage with their learning. Additional parts of the system allow built-in quizzing, captioning and group notetaking. This session will showcase a number of applications, with case studies from across LJMU, and give attendees the chance to try out using Panopto within their own courses.
This training will take place virtually using TEAMS.
