Prof Anthony Hollander ( Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research & Impact UoL) will officially launch Open Research Week 2021 and welcome Dr Rufus Pollock whose keynote talk begins this year’s programme.

Rufus Pollock is a researcher, technologist and entrepreneur. A pioneer in the global Open Data movement, advising national governments, international organisations and industry on how to succeed in the digital world. Founder of The Open Knowledge Foundation a leading NGO, present in over 35 countries, empowering people and organizations with access to information so that they can create insight and drive change. A Shuttleworth and Ashoka Fellow, a previous Mead Fellow in Economics at Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge and author of The Open Revolution: rewriting the rules of the information age  

 

This keynote talk opens our series of events and will not only be of interest to researchers and professional staff, but also communities and organisations in the region.   

Open Research Week is supported by the Institutional Strategic Support Fund (ISSF) awarded by The Wellcome Trust to the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, University of Liverpool
