For staff members with responsibility for recruitment of staff in their areas

For new LJMU staff (or those new to recruiting), please note there is a separate Recruitment and Selection training course available. Please contact your HR Business Partner to arrange.  We will consolidate the two sessions in the near future, however for now, these Hireserve courses are designed to take you through the functionality of the new recruitment system rather than cover recruitment and selection in finer detail.  

If you are acting as a selection panel member only rather than acting as a Hiring Manager, a shorter ‘application assessment’ session can be arranged. Please contact Janette Foster-Hyde , j.foster-hyde@ljmu.ac.uk  for further details. 

The HR team are introducing a Hiring Manager Portal, available within our recruitment system Hireserve. The Hiring Manager Portal will streamline the recruitment process and give hiring managers end-to-end control and visibility of their vacancies in one place, from initial request, shortlisting, through to making an offer to your preferred candidate.  Hiring Managers will also be able to see in real-time where vacancies are up to in the portal and have immediate access to candidate applications when they come in, reducing your time to hire.  Self-select interview slots can also be set up, giving candidates more flexibility on the time that they attend for interview, enhancing the candidate experience and reducing the likelihood of no-shows.

These sessions will demonstrate Hiring Manager Portal functionality, linking to each stage of the recruitment and selection process:

• Requesting a vacancy and submitting for approval
• Shortlisting
• Interview scheduler
• Requesting offer for successful candidate

Following the session, attendees will be set up with a Hiring Manager Portal account so you can start to submit and manage your vacancies via the portal.
