Introduction to mediation and moderation analysis using the PROCESS macro in SPSS or R In-Person
Regression quantifies the direct effect of one variable on another, mediation analysis is used to explore and quantify the indirect effect of an independent variable on a dependent variable through one or more intervening variables, known as mediators. Moderation is used to examine how the relationship between an independent variable and a dependent variable changes depending on the level of a third variable, known as the moderator. The PROCESS macro is a statistical tool developed by Andrew Hayes that simplifies the analysis of mediation, moderation, and conditional process models.
This full-day workshop will introduce mediation and moderation and explore how to use the PROCESS macro in SPSS or R to perform the analyses. A basic familiarity with simple and multiple regression is assumed, as well as familiarity with either SPSS or R - course materials will cover both environments.
The day will run from 10am to 4pm with morning and afternoon breaks, and an hour for lunch.
Further information will be posted on the Maths & Stats canvas course before the class.
