Actionable Allyship workshop Online
The Diversity and Inclusion team is proud to partner with behaviour change specialists Steps Drama Learning Development to provide staff with the opportunity to engage in a virtual (90-minute) ‘Actionable Allyship Workshop’ that focuses on race. The session aims to address such subjects as biases, microaggressions, and how to recognise one's own privilege and power in order to become a more effective ally.
This opportunity is FREE and open to LJMU/JMSU staff. Places are limited, so please be sure to book. If this timing is unsuitable, the session will also be run in the morning on the same day.
AIMS OF THE WORKSHOP:
- To utilise a series of experiential techniques, theory and facilitated discussions to help further engage audiences (participants will NOT be required to perform themselves).
- Provide an opportunity for participants to experience positive ways to enable conversations about race and Actionable Allyship with colleagues and students.
- Explore what Actionable Allyship looks like in practice and what role our unconscious bias can play in getting in the way of success.
- Consider what organisations, teams and individuals can do to create space for conversations about race.
