Facilitated by an award-winning TV producer with 30 years of experience in television and journalism, this workshop will explore how to talk about your research in a clear, engaging and professional way when communicating via a lens and microphone. Particularly pertinent at this time as we all adapt to largely communicating through computers.

You might be creating video for use on the web, being interviewed for TV or radio, hosting meetings or contributing to conferences remotely using Zoom or Microsoft Teams. Whatever the purpose you need to be well prepared and skilled to make these opportunities and interactions impactful – for all the right reasons!

This three hour workshop (including breaks) will cover: interview technique; pieces to camera; voice-over recording; video interactions. It will be delivered in an informal, participative style and will include role play and fun exercises. The purpose is to offer a relaxed way to learn and practise techniques that will be of value throughout your research career.
