Turn and Face the Strange: Agile and Values Based Leadership

Turn and Face the Strange: Agile and Values Based Leadership Online

“Part of the LJMU LEAD Programme – Leadership Enhancement and Development”

One of LJMU’s key values is to be ‘Courageous’ – we should innovate, take risks and embrace change. Leaders have a key role to encourage and support acting courageously, whilst needing to balance and ensure that innovations and changes are introduced in a safe and sound manner. Leaders will need to do this, whilst also facing a multitude of various challenges on a day to day basis. In order to thrive within the role, leaders will need to be ‘Agile’.

This workshop introduces the principles and values of agile leadership, emphasising the importance of flexibility, collaboration, and continuous learning. Participants will explore the key characteristics and competencies of agile leaders, including the ability to navigate uncertainty, inspire innovation, and foster a culture of adaptability.

Key topics covered will include:

1. Introduction to the principles and values of agile leadership

2. The role of an agile leader as a facilitator, coach, and enabler

3. Creating a culture of psychological safety and empowerment to foster innovation
