Domestic Abuse Awareness Workshop
Liverpool John Moores University is proud to be working in partnership with evidence-based training specialists, onEvidence Ltd in order to provide staff with the opportunity to engage in a virtual (2 hour) ‘Domestic Abuse Awareness Workshop’.
Domestic abuse affects 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men in their lifetime. The workshop aims to address such subjects as; how to recognise the signs of domestic abuse, where to get help and how best to support a person experiencing abuse.

About The Domestic Abuse Workshop
What do you think domestic abuse looks like? Is it always physical? How can you support a person experiencing abuse?
Over two hours, we explore how you may identify someone that is experiencing domestic abuse and discover ways in which to support them.
Aims & Learning Outcomes of The Workshop
This course will enable you to:
- Describe what is meant by the term ‘domestic abuse’
- Be aware of the impact of abuse and violence on victims
- Explain the prevalence of abuse in the UK
- Identify key risk factors in victim and perpetrator populations
- Demonstrate cultural competency
